Have you ever seen something in a store and totally fallen in Love with it? Then, when you get it home you think 'what the hell am I meant to wear this with?'. I have, on more then a one occasion. The trouble is when I buy something new or vintage I get transfixed like I cannot see anything else in my wardrobe. Every outfit I think of is discarded if I cannot wear my new item with it. In this case the item in question is my vintage beret. The thing is, this sort of behavior isn't new to me I remember being in primary school and my mum buying me some Pocahontas flashing trainers (god they were the shit) and literally, that was it, nothing other then those trainers were going near my feet and no outfit was worn without them. Think early Lily Allen and you get an idea of how I looked running round my cousins christening, minus the gold and the bad language. Sad to say nothing much has changed. When I purchased my beret from a vintage store, I knew it was lust. I did however underestimate how much of a bugger it is to style. Literally, every outfit I thought of I questioned whether the hat made it look too much, if that makes sense. But I refused to give up and that's pretty much how I landed on yesterday's outfit although my boyfriend thinks it looks too military with the jacket. Honestly, that set me back an hour because I went full circle changing coats and just ended back were I started. Moral of this story; beret's are bloody hard to style.
